This Nighthawk has that cool “why don’t more guitars do this?” thing going on. It looks like a Les Paul wandered into Fender territory and came back with a whole different personality. The Fireburst finish is killer in person — bright golden center, deep red/orange fade, and a dark outer edge that makes the flame top jump hard under light. The body shape, sharp upper horn, white binding, gold knobs, and offset pickup layout give it a really unique look without feeling gimmicky.
This one is in exceptional condition overall. Very little to no wear, no major dings, scratches, or chips, and the gloss still has that clean, fresh shine to it. The frets are like new, the fretboard is in great shape, the electronics test perfectly, and it has had a recent setup with spot-on intonation. It plays clean with no buzzing, and at 6.10 pounds on my scale, it has that lightweight, comfortable feel that makes the Nighthawk such an easy guitar to pick up and keep playing.
The big appeal here is the pickup layout. You get a mini humbucker in the neck, a middle single coil, and a slanted bridge humbucker, paired with a 5-way switch and coil-splitting. That gives this guitar way more range than a typical dual-humbucker single cut. It can get into warmer Gibson-style tones, brighter single-coil textures, and punchier bridge sounds without needing to swap guitars. It also has the longer 25.5" scale, so it has a little more snap and string definition than a standard Les Paul-style instrument.
What stood out to me:
- Extremely versatile HSH pickup setup with coil splitting
- Lightweight and comfortable at 6.10 pounds on my scale
- Fireburst finish looks fantastic and really pops under light
- Frets are like new with no buzzing
- Recent setup and spot-on intonation
- Unique Nighthawk feel: part Gibson attitude, part Fender-like snap
- Comes with a new soft case
This is one of those guitars that feels underrated until you actually play it. It has its own thing going on — not just another Les Paul copy, not just another Strat alternative — and that’s what makes it cool. It’s light, comfortable, responsive, and has a surprisingly wide spread of tones available from the stock pickup setup.
