The 2015 Les Paul Standard is one of the more unique Standards Gibson ever produced, and this example really shows why. Between the metallic “candy” Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish, the flame top, and the Gibson 100 anniversary details, it stands out from typical Les Pauls the moment you see it.

The finish on this one is particularly striking. Gibson did a special metallic candy variation of Heritage Cherry Sunburst for 2015, and in person the subtle metallic flake in the lacquer gives the top an incredible depth when it catches the light. Paired with the flame maple top, it’s a really eye-catching instrument.

This is part of Gibson’s 2015 Les Paul Standard lineup, which came loaded with some modern upgrades while still keeping the classic Les Paul tone and feel. It features a mahogany body with a carved AA flame maple top, a mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, and Gibson’s Burstbucker Pro humbuckers wired through the factory solderless electronics system with CTS pots. The push/pull switching offers a wide range of tones including coil splits and phase options, making it a much more versatile Les Paul than the traditional setup.

Playability is excellent. The neck is straight, the frets are in great shape, and it has just received a fresh setup with brand new 10s, polished frets, an oiled fingerboard, and a light compound and polish so the guitar really shines.

Condition-wise I would describe it as very good overall. It definitely shows some honest play wear with a few bumps and bruises—mostly on the back—and there is one small chip on the front edge of the body that I’ve photographed clearly. There is also some natural finish checking throughout the guitar and in the headstock clear coat, which is fairly common on these. It’s extremely subtle and only visible at certain angles, and it cannot be felt.

This guitar includes the original Gibson 100 anniversary hard shell case, which was a special case used during Gibson’s 100th year celebration.

What stood out to me

  • The metallic candy Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish — the flake in the lacquer gives the flame top a ton of depth in person.
  • The 2015 Gibson 100 anniversary details, including the special case and Les Paul signature hologram on the back of the headstock.
  • The solderless electronics with push/pull switching, which gives this Les Paul far more tonal versatility than a typical Standard.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been carefully gone through and properly set up so it arrives ready to play. I personally inspect and test every instrument before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
