This 1998 Fender Standard Stratocaster in Black with a maple fretboard is one of those guitars that immediately feels right in your hands. There’s something about a well-aged Strat that’s been played and cared for properly, and this one really delivers on that.
For a late 90s Strat, this one is in amazing shape for its age. It’s clearly been well looked after over the years, and it presents beautifully overall. You just don’t come across too many from this era in this kind of condition anymore.
Where this one really stands out is the playability. It feels incredibly smooth and broken-in in the best way, with a buttery feel across the entire neck. The frets are in great shape, and it plays cleanly and comfortably up and down the board.
It’s currently fitted with a custom pearloid-style pickguard and matching knobs, which give it a really sharp look against the black finish. If you prefer a more traditional look, I do also have the original pickguard and knobs, which I can include on request.
Tonally, it’s everything you’d want from a Strat—clear, punchy, and versatile with that classic Fender sparkle.
Guitars from the 90s are starting to get harder to find in clean, well-kept condition like this, and this is a great example of why people hold onto them.
What stood out to me
• Exceptionally clean for a 90s Strat—getting harder to find like this
• Buttery, broken-in feel that makes it hard to put down
• Great fret condition and smooth playability across the neck
• Tasteful custom pickguard and knobs, with originals available
• Classic Strat tone with clarity and versatility
Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note
These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 1–5 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
Questions before you buy? Ask me anything — more photos, a specific measurement, or anything the listing doesn't cover.
