The red is deep but still transparent enough to show the flame clearly, and the figuring changes quite a bit depending on the angle and lighting. It is a great-looking example of an early PRS, especially with the natural maple edge framing the top.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe original pickups sound excellent. The bridge is strong, clear, and punchy, while the neck has a warmer and smoother response. The five-way rotary gives you several useful combinations beyond the usual two-humbucker setup, making it easy to cover both thicker humbucker tones and clearer split-style sounds.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 7.72 pounds on my scale, it feels balanced and comfortable. The neck is in excellent shape, the frets are very good with plenty of life left, and intonation is spot on.
