gibson-les-paul-supreme-2026-dark-wine-red
Gibson Les Paul Supreme 2026 - Dark Wine Red

This 2026 Gibson Les Paul Supreme in Wine Red is one of those guitars where the Supreme treatment really does change the experience compared with a regular Les Paul. It still feels unmistakably Gibson, but the lighter body, slimmer neck, compound-radius ebony board and modern heel make it noticeably easier to get around on.

The AAA figured maple top is the first thing that grabs me on this one. The Wine Red finish is deep without hiding the flame, and the gold hardware against the black pickup rings gives it a really sharp look. The multi-ply binding, Super Split Block inlays and large mother-of-pearl headstock inlay finish it off without making it feel overly busy.

At 8.47 lbs on my scale, this is very light for a full-size Les Paul. The Ultra-Modern weight relief makes a noticeable difference once it is on a strap, especially if you're used to heavier Standards or Customs.

The neck is Gibson's SlimTaper profile with a compound-radius ebony fretboard that transitions from 10" to 16". Between that flatter upper register, the Modern Contoured Heel and the low action on this one, bends and higher-fret work feel especially smooth. The frets are excellent, the intonation is spot on, and the recent setup makes this one genuinely effortless to play.

The electronics are another big part of what separates the Supreme from a normal Les Paul. It uses the original Burstbucker Pro neck and Burstbucker Pro Plus bridge pickups, with push/pull controls for coil tapping, phase switching and Pure Bypass. Everything passed my complete electronics inspection with no issues.

The pickups have plenty of the fullness you expect from a Les Paul, but this setup gives you quite a bit more room to change the character of the guitar without ever touching a pedal or amp setting.

What stood out to me:

• AAA figured maple top in Wine Red

• Only 8.47 lbs on my scale

• Ultra-Modern weight relief

• SlimTaper mahogany neck

• Compound-radius ebony fretboard

• 10"–16" fingerboard radius

• Modern Contoured Heel

• Mother-of-pearl Super Split Block inlays

• Large mother-of-pearl headstock inlay

• Burstbucker Pro / Burstbucker Pro Plus pickups

• Push/pull coil tapping, phase switching and Pure Bypass

• Locking Grover tuners

• Gold hardware

• Excellent frets

• Low, effortless action

• Spot-on intonation

• Original Gibson hardshell case

• Includes the pictured case candy

This guitar is listed as Excellent. The action is low, bends are smooth, the frets feel great, and everything across the neck plays cleanly.
