Orders placed after 9/4 will ship on 9/13 as soon as I'm back. Your guitar will be packed with the same care as always — I'll still be answering messages while I'm out. Thanks for understanding!

This is a really good example of why I still like the traditional Les Paul Standard formula so much. The Honey Amber finish has that warm, slightly faded vintage look to it, and the top has quite a bit more movement in person than my photos are able to catch. The flame changes dramatically as you move the guitar around, and because of the direction of my lighting, this is one of the rare cases where I think the top actually looks better with the guitar in your hands than it does in the listing photos.

The other thing I noticed almost immediately was the neck. I have handled quite a few of these '50s Standards, and this particular one has an unusually slick, buttery feel to it. It still has the fuller '50s profile you expect, but it does not feel bulky or cumbersome. There is just something about the way this neck feels under the hand that makes it especially pleasant to play.

It is currently set up with fresh strings, low action and spot-on intonation. Playability is effortless up and down the neck, the frets are in excellent shape, and the fretboard is equally clean. Nothing here feels like it needs attention before being played.

The original Burstbucker pickups sound exactly like I want in one of these. The bridge has plenty of bite and authority without getting harsh, while the neck stays full and warm without becoming muddy. Roll the controls back and there is a lot of usable range between cleaner, sweeter tones and the thicker Les Paul sound these are known for. All electronics tested perfectly.

Condition is excellent throughout. The body, back and neck are all very clean with no meaningful wear that jumps out at me. The nickel pickup covers have a little normal surface haze/patina that could certainly be polished further, but I left them alone since the guitar already has fresh strings installed.

What stood out to me:

Honey Amber finish has a really warm, classic look

Flame top has noticeably more movement in person than the photos show

One of the slickest-feeling '50s Standard necks I have handled

Fuller '50s profile without feeling cumbersome

Fresh strings

Recent setup with effortless low action

Spot-on intonation

Excellent fret and fretboard condition

Original Burstbucker pickups

Electronics tested perfectly

Excellent condition throughout

9.38 pounds on my scale

Original Gibson hardshell case

Complete original case candy

This one is a very straightforward, very good Les Paul Standard. There are no surprises hiding in the setup or condition, and the neck is what really separates it for me from some of the other '50s Standards I have had. Add in the Honey Amber top and the way the flame moves in person, and it is just an easy guitar to pick up and enjoy.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.

⏳ Quick note
These guitars don’t usually sit.
