That said, it appears to be factory spec otherwise, with the classic ES-339 layout, dual humbuckers, 4-knob control setup, and traditional Gibson semi-hollow feel. The Mod Shop designation adds a little extra uniqueness to an already beautiful figured 339.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe figuring on this one is the first thing that grabs you. The red finish has that rich, classic Gibson cherry look, but the flame underneath gives it way more movement and depth than a plain-top 339. Depending on the light, the figuring shifts from subtle and smoky to bold and almost three-dimensional.
