The ash grain is wide open and really pops under the gloss, giving the guitar a warm, almost furniture-grade look without feeling too polished or sterile. The 5-way switching gives you a wide range of sounds, including the out-of-phase neck\/middle position that ties directly into Mark Speer’s signature sound.
