Orders placed after 9/4 will ship on 9/13 as soon as I'm back. Your guitar will be packed with the same care as always — I'll still be answering messages while I'm out. Thanks for understanding!

This is a 2026 Fender Custom Shop 1959 Stratocaster built as a special-order exclusive for The Music Zoo, and it is easily the coolest Custom Shop Strats I’ve owned. The idea was essentially to take a late-’50s Strat and give it a completely over-the-top custom treatment: an NOS Olympic White alder body and matching Olympic White face on the headstock, a full HLE Gold-finished maple neck, brushed gold anodized aluminum pickguard, gold hardware throughout, and an all-white set of Lace Sensor Gold pickups. It still has the bones of a ’59-style Strat, but visually it is unlike almost anything else Fender is building.

The HLE Gold neck is the feature that really makes this guitar. Rather than simply tinting or staining the maple, the neck and fingerboard are actually finished in Fender’s metallic HLE Gold, giving the entire neck a genuine gold-flake appearance that changes dramatically under different lighting. The back of the headstock continues the gold treatment while the face is Olympic White to match the body. Combined with the gold vintage-style tuners, gold neck plate, gold tremolo, gold jack plate and anodized pickguard, it looks incredibly cohesive in person without feeling like someone simply bolted a bunch of gold parts onto a white Strat.

Underneath all of that is a really strong Custom Shop spec. It has an alder body, maple neck, 1959 “D” neck profile, 9.5" fretboard radius, 21 narrow-tall frets, vintage-style synchronized tremolo and a 5-way selector. The pickup set is especially interesting: three Lace Sensor Gold single-coils in white covers. They retain plenty of Strat character while being incredibly clean and controlled. There is virtually none of the noise or feedback you might expect from a traditional vintage-output single-coil setup, and the cleans have a really polished, articulate quality without becoming sterile.

The setup on this one is excellent. The frets have an almost mirror-like polish to them and bends feel ridiculously smooth. Action is comfortable, intonation is spot on, and the guitar weighs 7.72 lbs on my scale, so it still feels like a proper lightweight Strat despite all of the extra visual treatment and hardware.

Condition is excellent and very close to new overall. There is a very small mark toward the lower front edge of the body, a small portion of the “F” in the Fender headstock logo has been rubbed/smudged, and the plastic tremolo cavity cover on the back has a small chip missing near the lower screw hole. A replacement backplate is only around $10 if you want it perfect. Otherwise, the finish, neck, frets and hardware are all extremely clean, and there are no breaks, cracks or structural issues.

It includes the original Fender Custom Shop hardshell case with the beautiful gold plush interior, Certificate of Authenticity, original shop floor traveler, Custom Shop strap, tremolo arm, extra springs, paperwork and complete original case candy. This was a $5,999 guitar new from The Music Zoo, so at the current asking price there is a pretty substantial gap from what this exact build cost new.

I’ll also say this plainly: I went back and forth on whether I even wanted to list this one. It is currently my favorite Strat and probably the coolest Fender Custom Shop I’ve personally owned. If it sells, someone is getting an extremely special guitar. If it doesn’t, I am completely happy keeping it.

What stood out to me

Music Zoo-exclusive 2026 Fender Custom Shop special-order build

Originally $5,999 new

NOS Olympic White alder body with matching Olympic White headstock face

Full metallic HLE Gold-finished maple neck and fingerboard

Brushed gold anodized aluminum pickguard

Gold hardware throughout

Three white Lace Sensor Gold pickups

Exceptionally clean, quiet pickup response with virtually no unwanted noise

1959 “D” neck profile with a 9.5" radius

21 narrow-tall frets with an almost mirror-like polish

Extremely smooth bends and excellent overall setup

7.72 lbs on my scale

Original Custom Shop case with gold plush interior

Complete COA, floor traveler, strap, tremolo hardware and case candy

Excellent near-new overall condition with only a few clearly disclosed cosmetic imperfections

No breaks, cracks or structural repairs

One of those guitars I genuinely do not mind keeping

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play.
